An invitation to a dream come true – Shireman’s Place Preview Opening!

You are cordially invite to the “Preview Opening” of Shireman’s Place on Thursday Sept. 10th 7PM – 9 PM.

Located at 1626 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg, Shireman’s Place will offer lockers, bathrooms, and ultimately showers, to those who need these facilities and have no home of their own.

Imagine not having a safe place for the pictures of your children, or the family mementos.
Imagine that every time it rains your bed and all your clothes get soaked and you have no place to dry them.
Imagine that every night when you go to sleep you face the possibility of someone stealing your wallet and all your personal papers as you sleep.

This is the reality for over hundreds of people in St. Petersburg every day.

Now:
Imagine a safe place where you could store your personal papers and valuables.
Imagine a place that you could leave your clean clothes, and change into them.
Imagine a place that you could hang your kids’ pictures in, or maybe that only picture of your parents.

Through the collaborative efforts of the churches participating in Celebrate Outreach! and the Homeless Community, there now is such an opportunity for those who need such a place.

Please join the staff, steering committee, members of the various Houses of Worship, and those from the Homeless Community who have made this dream a reality.

This project is funded entirely from contributions and all staff are volunteers. Come see the dream, meet some of those who have helped make this dream a reality, and see if Shireman’s Place moves you as much as it has moved us.
